Today I will show you how to get started on musical.ly, a creative social media platform for mobile devices that allows users to make, share, and discover amazing short videos on mobile and online.

I’ve heard many people complain about how hard, confusing, and frustrating it is to sign up for a musical.ly account. What most people don’t realize is that you have to register for an account using a mobile device, right after you’ve downloaded and installed the app on your phone or tablet.

Musical.ly has the same problem the same problem that many app based services have, which is mobile only sign ups. I mean there’s no way to create an account online using a desktop or laptop PC, however, you do have the option log in on their desktop site, but I’ll explain that later.

Musical.ly Sign Up How to: Step-by-Step Guide

  1. On your phone or tablet’s web browser go to https://musical.ly/
  2. When you’re on the app’s website tap on the option that’s right for you. For example, I have an Android phone, so I tapped on the “Get it on Google Play” button. If you have an iPhone or iPad, then you’ll need to tap on the App Store icon, and so on.musical.ly website app icons image

  4. Tap “Open” to launch the app.
  5. Tap “Sign Up”.
  6. Select how you want to create your account by tapping on one of the options in the pop up window. I chose “email”.
  7. Enter your email address and tap “Continue”.

  10. Click on the check box to prove that you are a human.
  11. Enter your full name and tap “Continue”.
  12. Take a selfie and select upload image so your friends can find you with a lot more ease.
  13. Add contacts from your phone or from Facebook if you want. This step is optional, you can simply tap “Skip” to do this later.

After creating your account you’ll be automatically logged in. But if you accidentally get logged out or delete the app, you can easily and quickly sign in again by following these steps:

How to Login to Musically with your Username and Password

  1. Open the app.
  2. Tap “log in”.
  3. Enter your “musername” o email.
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Tap “log in”.

Although the company still doesn’t let people sign up through their desktop site, they do, however, allow already registered users login online. If you already registered for an account via the app, you can the service on a desktop or laptop PC running on any operating system like this:

  1. Go to https://www.musical.ly/login.jsp
  2. Enter your account credentials into the email and password fields.
  3. Enter the security code.
  4. Click “LOGIN”.

 

If you signed up using a social login such as Facebook or Twitter, you can access the the service like this: Launch the musically app on your mobile device, tap log in, tap the Facebook or Twitter icon, enter your account credentials, and then tap on the “Login” button if you used Facebook, or tap on “Authorize app” if you want to sign in with Twitter.
